In 20th-century Europe, women artists were far less visible, largely due to limited access to formal art education. Gizella Borbély primarily painted still lives, occasionally creating portraits of those close to her. While the identity of the muse in this particular work remains unknown, the distinctive figure in motion sparks the viewer's imagination. This painting from 1964 hung for decades in a dining room in the heart of the city of Budapest.
